Each year, a film festival is held in Chicago to give awareness to all Latino cultures. A poster contest is held to where one poster is chosen to represent the theme of the festival. My poster was not chosen but I still wanted to include it in my portfolio. It represents the connection of film with Latino culture. These elements are shown by the radiating blocks of color similar to sun rays and a film reel.

Process of the first draft to final draft (from left to right). Initial design was to form the text similar to how the credits would appear after a film. From there, I integrated a skyline of Chicago to try and make the festival poster relate to its location. Finally, I came to the conclusion that I wanted an organized poster that displayed all the information in a clean and easy way.
In addition, below I have compiled a booklet with some of the films from the festival with information including the name of the film, date, time, context, director, language, and genre. This makes the information easily readable and available for those attending the festival. Elements of the booklet were taken from the poster so that they would correlate with one another.
