Michael Jordan is a widely beloved member of the NBA whose fame and career I chose to explore as a feature of my capstone project. I created a digital book containing photo collage and typography that explores the career and success of an American basketball Hall of Famer, Michael Jordan. Jordan reached fame for his athletic prowess and achievements, each of which is highlighted on a different page in the book. The use of photo collage allowed me to highlight archival moments in Jordan’s career, while using typography to explain the details of the achievement. The book operates as a page by page timeline of Jordan’s career.

PROCESS
My process includes a timeline, mind maps, quotes, mood board and sketches. This was an extensive project that required a lot of research prior to the final design. Each page consists of images, texture, and typography. In addition, added sparingly throughout the book are famous quotes Michael Jordan is widely known for.
Mood Board
- Some inspiration for what I wanted my pages to originally look like. I took some ideas from these images but also added a lot of my own personal touches to really enhance the photo collage theme I was going for.
Mind Maps
- Immediate thoughts about the project to start the brainstorming process. Phase where I wrote down whatever came to mind, thus given the name "brainstorm."
Preliminary sketches
- In the beginning, I started sketching out what I wanted each page to look like. As I continued along, I felt like each page was more unique without sketching what I wanted it to look like beforehand. I was really able to be creative with the entire process.
